About Us

The Golden Horseshoe is embarking on a new partnership with First Tee – a national program to introduce kids from all economic backgrounds to golf. Barbara Brown will make all necessary arrangements (including model releases for all) with CW golf staff and will have the kids at the Spotswood at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1.The First Tee of the Virginia Peninsula serves local youth ages 5 – 17. It is a collaboration between local area golf courses and the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA. This program provides an environment for youth to learn valuable life skills through playing the game of golf.

The First Tee of the Virginia Peninsula began with limited programming in the fall of 2011 at The Hamptons Golf Course. They now have 5 additional program sites including their home course at Kiln Creek Golf Club, The Pines Golf Course at Fort Eustis, Colonial Heritage Golf Club, Two Rivers Country Club, and The Spotswood Course at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. Through their Life and Golf Skills classes, National School Program, and Outreach Program, over 11,000 children throughout the Peninsula have been introduced to The First Tee.

OUR VISION
